This phenomenon has led some seasoned professionals, like former Minneapolis florist Sarah Chen, to shutter thriving businesses after experiencing debilitating symptoms consistent with chemical toxicity, including chronic fatigue, persistent headaches, and nausea. Chen\u2019s experience, coupled with disturbing international reports linking parental floristry work to severe childhood illnesses, underscores a global lack of occupational safety standards concerning the chemicals used to keep blooms flawless year-round.<\/p>\n

For eight years, Chen tirelessly built her small operation into a successful 10-person enterprise. Yet, her professional achievement came at a severe personal cost. Dizzy and disoriented amidst her beloved roses in late 2024, the 30-year-old decided she had to exit the industry.
